Woman Rescued After Falling From River Embankment

A London woman is recovering from a fall down a 40' high river embankment.

Fire crews were called to the river bank behind London's CPRI on Sanatorium Rd. around 5pm on Saturday.

They say the woman fell down the steep embankment and had to be rescued. Firefighters rappelled down the side of the embankment and put her in a rescue basket, the pulled her up the side.

Officials say the rescue took about an hour to complete. The woman was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
