Attempted Robbery In Woodstock

Police are looking for a suspect following an attempted robbery at a convenience store in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police Service says on Sunday around 3:40pm, a man entered the J&P Variety store at 232 Norwich Ave. and demanded cash. The man also told the store owner that he had a weapon.

The store owner refused to hand over any money and the suspect eventually fled the store. The suspect was last seen running on Anne St. towards Maud St.

The male suspect is described as being 5’8” to 6’ tall, and weighing 180 lbs. He last seen wearing black pants, a rain jacket, black shoes and a light coloured baseball cap. He was also wearing gloves, sunglasses and a bandanna around his face.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
