Toddler Dies on Family Farm

An 18-month-old girl has died after she wandered away from her family and was later found in a water trough.

Huron County OPP say a group of siblings were playing outside on a North Huron farm when the toddler wandered off. Once family realized the little girl was missing, they launched a search. She was discovered at about 9pm inside a barn, unresponsive in a water trough. She was rushed to an area hospital but attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.

An autopsy will be done at a London hospital. The Huron County Crime Unit is at the farm until results of the post-mortem are known. The child's name isn't being released until family members have been notified. OPP have also not revealed the exact location of the farm.
