The City of London's negotiation team and CUPE Local 101 will pick up where they left off on Tuesday.
The first talks since a strike by inside workers began on May 25, continued into Friday evening. In a media release sent out Friday night, the city described negotiations as "ongoing".
CUPE Local 101 previously called the city’s concession demands “ridiculous”. They include the city’s wish to be able to schedule 9am-5pm workers for evening and weekend work, and to appoint who it wants to vacant positions, regardless of seniority.
The city says its offer includes a wage increase in each of the four years in the contract for a total of 4.1%, and benefit increases.
CUPE 101 represents people who work in water and waste water administration, finance, traffic management, tourism, bylaw enforcement, and technical services. Certain applications and building permits have been delayed as a result of the strike.
