Majors Swept By Bobcats In Doubleheader

The Barrie Baycats scored a 6-5 win over the London Majors in Game 1 of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon, and followed it up with shutout 6-0 win in Game 2.

In Game 1, Barrie held a 4-0 lead over London, but the Majors were able to score two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to take the lead. However, the Baycats took back their lead in the sixth to earn the win.

Kenta Nishii, Cleveland Brownlee and Argenis Vargas all had two hits apiece for London. Starting pitcher Oscar Perez went six innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and walking one.

In Game 2, Brett Lawson pitched a seven-inning shutout for the Baycats.

Nishii and third baseman Alex Martinez each had a pair of hits for London. Majors pitcher Adam Paish went six innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, while striking out three and walking one.

The Majors are now riding a six game losing streak after winning seven in a row at the start of the season.

London will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday in London. First pitch is at 7:35pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
