Tornado Watch Ends

A tornado watch has ended for the London region.

Environment Canada says conditions were previously favourable for severe thunderstorms which could have produced tornadoes throughout London, Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, as well as Brant and Perth.

The watch ended just after 6pm.

Less than two weeks ago, Environment Canada says an EF1 tornado touched down between Thorndale and Bryanston. The May 30 storm brought with it winds of up to 175km/h. There were several buildings damaged in the area.

It was the first tornado of the season in Ontario.
