Man Hurt During Police Chase

Ontario's police watchdog is investigating after a man was hurt during a police chase in Norfolk County.

The Special Investigations Unit has been called in after OPP say officers were called to a Delhi home just after 7pm on August 2.

A woman told police she had been assaulted by a man. When officers went to the man's home he ran away and police followed. They lost sight of him then found him about an hour later sitting on an embankment.

The man was arrested and taken to a local hospital for leg and back injuries. He was then transferred to a Hamilton hospital.

Anyone who may have seen what happened is asked to call the SIU at 1-800-787-8529 Ex. 2150.
