Majors Force Game 7

The London Majors needed a big game from pitcher Luis Pina, and they got it.

Pina threw a complete game to lead to the Majors to a 5-3 win over Kitchener, a win that forced a deciding game seven in their Intercounty Baseball League semi-final series with the Panthers.

Pina gave up eight hits, struck out three, and walked just one.

The Majors' offence was led by centre-fielder Chris McQueen, who had two hits and an RBI.  First baseman Cleveland Brownlee and second baseman Cody Mombourquette each drove in a run. Designated hitter Brett Sabourin, right-fielder Argenis Vargas and left-fielder Julio Guzman each had two hits and combined to score four runs.

The Panthers scored their only runs on three-run homer by first baseman Sean Reilly

Game seven is set for Saturday night in Kitchener. The winner will face the Barrie Baycats in the IBL final.
