Three Dead In Elgin County Collision

Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police officers are currently investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision northwest of St. Thomas.

Friday night just after 10pm, police say a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Wellington Rd. and Ferguson Line in Central Elgin.

There were two motorcycles driving on Wellington Rd. at the time, the first was able to avoid the truck that entered the intersection from Ferguson Line, the second collided with the driver's side of the truck.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck, 55-year-old Robert Frederick of St. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the motorcycle, 25-year-old Kyle Melo and his female passenger, 23-year-old Kayla DeMelo, both from London, were also pronounced dead at the scene.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators continue to investigate the cause of the collision. Wellington Rd. has since re-opened near the scene.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
