Charges Laid After Shots Fired In Residential Neighbourhood

London police say over 1,000 rounds of ammunition and a loaded shotgun have been seized from the scene of Tuesday morning's gunfire.

Two London men are now facing a slew of weapons charges in relation to the incident.

Police were called to the Briar Court and Thistlewood Dr. area around 1am on Tuesday morning for a report of gunshots.

Two men inside a home in the northeast neighbourhood surrendered to police and were taken into custody.

Investigators say no one was hurt, but three cars parked in the area were damaged.

Police searched the home and seized the following:

  • a loaded 12 gauge shotgun
  • 1,495 rounds of ammunition for several different guns
  • three 223 caliber rifle magazines
  • seven glock 45 caliber handgun magazine
Joseph Haddad, 32, of London faces the following charges:
  • weapons dangerous
  • discharging a firearm in a reckless manner
  • careless use of a firearm
  • two counts of careless storage of a firearm/weapon/prohibited device
  • mischief under $5,000
Khalil Haddad, 48, of London also faces two counts of careless storage of a firearm/weapon/prohibited device.

Police have not said why the shots were fired in the first place or if the two were targeting anyone.

Both remain in police custody and will appear in a London court this afternoon.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
