Thousands Of Chickens Die In Barn Fire

Around 22,000 chickens have perished in a barn fire in Oxford County.

The Ontario Provincial Police says on Sunday around 6:30pm, firefighters responded to the blaze at the poultry farm located on 45th Line just north of Road 68 in Zorra Township.

The large aluminum sided barn that housed the chickens was completely destroyed by fire.

There were no injuries reported.

Police say the blaze remains under investigation, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
