More Sexual Assault Charges Against Former Army Medic

Former military medical technician James Wilks is facing more sexual assault charges for incidents that allegedly happened during medical exams at recruiting centres in London and Thunder Bay.

Retired Petty Office James Wilks now faces two counts of sexual assault and ten counts of breach of trust by a public officer.

Investigators say between 2004 and 2009 Wilks performed medical exams on recruits and serving members "contrary to prescribed medical procedures."

Between 2010 and 2012 the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service laid a total of 40 charges against him.

He was found guilty on several charges in November of 2013.

As a result of the publicity, eight more victims came forward to file complaints, resulting in the additional charges.
