Thames Valley ETFO Backs NDP

The union that represents public elementary teachers at the Thames Valley District School Board is asking its members to consider voting for the NDP when they cast their ballots on October 19.

The executive of the Thames Valley local of the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario passed a recommendation that mirrors the motion passed by the union last month.

On August 20, a motion was passed at ETFO's annual meeting that the federation endorse the New Democrats in the federal election.

“The Annual Meeting of ETFO Provincial is the highest authority within ETFO and it is important for all members to take into consideration its direction when making individual decisions about voting in this federal election” says ETFO Thames Valley Teacher Local President Craig Smith in a release issued Thursday afternoon.

ETFO represents 3300 teachers in the Thames Valley District School Board.
