Drive-By Shooting Arrest

A London man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Windsor.

The incident happened two weeks ago on Howard Ave. at Erie St.

Soon after that, officers seized the two vehicles involved and identified suspects.

Windsor police say the man suspected of firing a gun out the passenger window of the green Toyota, seen in the video below, was arrested by Durham Regional Police Monday night.

He's since been transported to Windsor and has appeared in court.

Alekesji Guzhavin, 30, faces 18 charges, including two counts of attempted murder.

Guzhavin is well know to police in London. On September 7, 2013 he was arrested in the downtown core. According to officers, a man had been pointing a gun from the window of a car in the Richmond St. and Mill St. area.

Police followed the car until it stopped and one man tried to run away. Guzhavin and a Windsor man were arrested at the scene.  A silver small calibre hand gun and 14g of marijuana were seized by police.

As a result of that incident, eight charges were laid against Guzhavin, including unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of a dangerous weapon.
