Plastic Gun Raises Concern

Police are reminding people to use common sense when handling items that could be mistaken as a weapon, after two people were arrested in downtown London.

The London Police Service says on Saturday around 1:25pm, officers received a 911 call reporting a male carrying, what appeared to be, a firearm in a holster on his belt, in the area of Dundas St. and Richmond St.

Two males matching the description of the suspect were located in the downtown area and detained by officers.

Police say one of the detained males was carrying a plastic toy gun in a holster on his belt.

Both males were released unconditionally when police determined no crime had been committed.
