Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Vehicle

A 51-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Norfolk County.

The Ontario Provincial Police says on Sunday around 10:22am, the man was walking in the eastbound lane of Charlotteville Rd. 7 when he was struck by a westbound vehicle that had entered the eastbound lane.

The 51-year-old Norfolk County man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The 84-year-old driver of the vehicle and a 51-year-old woman who was walking with the victim when he was struck, were not injured.

Charlotteville Rd. 7 was closed between Charlottevile East Quarter Line Rd. and Turkey Point Rd. for around seven while police conducted an investigation.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
