London Men Caught Transporting Pot Plants

Two London men are facing charges after police allegedly found 27 freshly harvested pot plants in their car.

Investigators say OPP officers were patrol in Lambton County on September 25. Police stopped a car for an unrelated violation when they smelled marijuana coming from inside.

Police found the pot plants and arrested three men at the scene. One of the suspects tried to run away, but the was quickly taken down without injury.

Days later, on September 28 a man went to OPP headquarters in Petrolia and told officers he had provided police at the scene with a fake identification.

Jeffrey Gowing, 38, of London faces the following charges:

  • possession of a schedule II substance - over 30mgs
  • resisting a peace officer
  • public mischief
  • obstructing a police office
  • personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice
Trevor Wright, 36, of London faces the following charges:
  • possession of a schedule II substance - over 30mgs
  • drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor
Augustus Morrissey, 41, of Adelaide -Metcalfe Township also faces one charge of possession of a schedule II substance - over 30mgs.

All will appear in a Sarnia court at a later date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
