More than two months after 17 kittens were abandoned at the side of a Norfolk County road, provincial police say a suspect has been arrested and charged.

Norfolk OPP were called just after 9pm on Thursday, July 16 by a concerned motorist who reported a suspicious vehicle parked on Windham East Quarter Line Rd.

According to police, the driver of the grey Jeep Liberty is suspected of abandoning the kittens before leaving the scene.

The motorist who called police was able to get a licence plate number and description of the vehicle.

Kenneth Harvey Haskett, 57, of Norfolk County is now charged with causing damage or injury to animals.
