Cops Chase Down Alleged Bank Robber

Police have made an arrest after an alleged bank robber led officers on a short chase in London.

The London Police Service says on Sunday around noon, a man allegedly entered the TD Canada Trust located at 1420 Ernest Ave., brandished a weapon and demanded cash. He then fled the area in a blue Dodge Caravan with an unknown amount of money.

Upon arrival, officers saw the man making his getaway and began their pursuit, which ended in the area of Edgemere Cres. and Deveron Cres. when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree.

Police alleged the suspect attempted to flee the scene of the crash but was apprehended. He was then taken to a local hospital as a precaution and charges are pending.

No one was injured during the robbery or the chase.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
