Lugnuts Intentionally Loosened On Vehicle

An incident of mischief that could have had a tragic ending has Norfolk OPP looking for a suspect.

Police were called Tuesday afternoon to a home on John St. in Port Dover by a resident who reported that someone had loosened the lugnuts on the driver's side front tire of their vehicle.

The lugnuts had been tampered with sometime in the early morning hours of Monday, November 2 while the vehicle was parked in the driveway of the home. The discovery was made after the driver noticed a significant shaking of the vehicle and took it in for service.

Police say this act of mischief could have had "devastating effects for the driver of the vehicle and other innocent motorists and pedestrians travelling along the roadway."

Officers are still investigating and asking anyone with any information to call Norfolk OPP.
