Men Charged With Drunk Driving After Swapping Seats

Swapping seats didn't save two men from being charged with impaired driving in London.

Middlesex OPP say they spotted a vehicle speeding down the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401 near Highbury Ave. just before 7:30am on November 13. Police say they pulled the vehicle over and watched as the driver and front passenger switched seats.

After a brief chat, officers determined both men had been drinking. The man in the driver's seat, who had originally been the passenger, was given a breath test which police say he failed.

The other man was arrested and taken to the OPP detachment for a breath test. Police say he registered at more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.

Abdul Abdul Mohammad, 44, of East York, and 24-year-old Fesal Mohammad-Sobir of Toronto, are charged with impaired driving offences.

Both will make court appearances in the new year.
