Wrong Way Driver Causes Crash On Hwy. 403

It's lucky no one was seriously hurt after a driver went the wrong way on Hwy. 403 near Brantford.

Brant OPP say a concerned driver called them just after 12:30pm Wednesday about a vehicle heading westbound in the eastbound lanes.

Police say the wrong way vehicle collided with another vehicle causing minor damage. It then forced a third motorist off the road. The wrong way vehicle then veered off the highway, crashing into a tree.

A 53-year-old Hamilton man was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police say charges are pending.

The eastbound lanes of Hwy. 403 at Middle Townline Rd. were closed for two hours as police investigated the incident.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
