London IKEA Location To Open Next Week

Londoners have less than a week to wait before the highly anticipated IKEA Pick-up location opens in the south end.

IKEA Canada has announced the pick-up and order point at 3198 Wonderland Rd., near Southdale Rd. will officially open on Wednesday.

The new pick-up facility is one-tenth of the size of a regular IKEA store, at 20,000 sq ft. It will employee 20 people and offer customers a condensed showroom with 75 home furnishing displays, and a selection of 99 products to buy on-site. Customers will also be able to place orders online or at the location using provided tablets and pick up the purchase two days later.

There is a $20 flat rate to have your order shipped to the “pick-up point.”

The addition of the new London pick-up facility will help save Londoners the drive to the nearest full-fledged IKEA in Burglington. It's one of five Canadian pick-up points being launched by the Swedish furniture giant. Other locations include Windsor, St. Catharines, Whitby, and Quebec City.
