Hit-And-Run Crash Causes Power Outage

A London man is facing charges after a vehicle collided with a light pole, causing a power outage in London.

The London Police Service says on Saturday around 5:45am, officers responded to the crash that involved a black pickup truck at the intersection of Wharncliffe Rd. S and Base Line Rd. E.  The driver fled the scene before police arrived.

Police say the crash caused a disruption of service to several traffic lights on Wharncliffe Rd. S from Commissioners Rd. E to Emery St. E.

A 24-year-old London man was located by police around 8am and is charged with careless driving and failure to report a collision.
