Man Hurt In St. Thomas Electrical Fire

A fire at a St. Thomas business that sent one man to hospital does not appear to be suspicious.

St. Thomas police and firefighters were called to the  business at 488 Talbot St. around 7:30pm Thursday.

They arrived to find the interior of the business on fire. A man who had been working inside the building at the time was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Police say he was hurt trying to douse the flames.

Fire officials believe an electrical problem sparked the blaze, but the cause remains under investigation.

An estimate of the damage has not been made available.
