Shortly before 2pm Monday, London police announced they had located Cody Laye safe thanks to the help of his friends.
Police asked for the public's help locating Laye early Monday morning, noting they were concerned for his well-being.
Laye hadn't been seen since 1:30pm Sunday, when he was spotted in the area of Wellington Rd. and Grand Ave.
The incident sent firefighters into the chilly waters of the Thames River to search for Laye.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
