LTC Offers Free Bus Rides On NYE

London Transit is making it easier for Londoners to get to and from New Year's Eve celebrations.

The LTC has announced free bus rides for everyone, regardless of age, between 8pm Thursday and 1am Friday. Bus routes that normally end at 11pm will be extended for two hours.

Last week, the city announced free parking in municipal lots between midnight and 1pm New Year's Day.

The two initiatives promote safe alternatives to drinking and driving, giving residents the option to leave their vehicle in a municipal lot and take the bus home with no financial repercussions.

Throughout the downtown, Richmond Row, and Old East there are 19 municipal lots of varying sizes with a combined total of 1,500 parking spaces available. The free overnight parking does not apply to on-street parking or privately owned lots.

A special New Year's Eve bus schedule is available online at www.ltconline.ca.
