High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Londoners are being asked for help as Syrian refugees continue to arrive in the city.
The London Mosque is seeking donations of several items that will help the refugees get started on their new lives in Canada. It's expected <a href="http://blackburnnews.com/london/london-news/2016/01/05/810-syrian-refugees-to-come-to-london/">more than 800 Syrian refugees</a> in total will come to London.
Officials at the Mosque say there is an urgent need for:
<ul>
	<li>Baby strollers</li>
	<li>Baby Highchairs</li>
	<li>Diapers (sizes 2-6)</li>
	<li>Baby formula</li>
	<li>Personal care items and toiletries</li>
	<li>Ladies and mens personal hygiene items which include but not limited to razors, shampoo, soap, moisturizers</li>
	<li>New underwear and undergarments, including socks</li>
	<li>New pyjamas</li>
	<li>Boots of all sizes</li>
	<li>Men's Winter coats and accessories (hats, gloves, etc.)</li>
</ul>
The Southside Group has provided the Mosque with space at 797 York St., Unit 2 to collect and sort donations.
They can be dropped off on Saturday and Sunday between 12pm and 3pm.
