London Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

London police say a man wanted on outstanding arrest warrants was found and taken into custody Monday afternoon outside the Flying J truck stop on Highbury Ave. South.

31-year-old Gregory Vanalstine was arrested just after 3:30 pm. Vanalstine was wanted for:

  • theft under $5,000
  • theft over $5,000
  • utter threats to cause death
  • fail to comply with probation
  • take motor vehicle without consent
  • two counts of driving while disqualified
Police note Vanalstine has since been charged with mischief not exceeding $5,000 after allegedly causing damage to a cruiser after the arrest, and that charges are pending in relation to incidents leading up to the arrest.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
