Two Hurt In Jewellery Store Robbery

St. Thomas police are searching for a suspect in a violent jewellery store robbery.

Police say a man walked into B & L Jewellers on First Ave. on Wellington St. just after 2:30pm Monday and assaulted a store employee and a customer. The man then took off out a rear door with an undisclosed amount of jewellery.

The employee was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The customer did not require medical treatment.

Police brought in the K-9 unit to help track down the man, but were unsuccessful.

A description of the man has not been released.

The investigation is on-going.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
