Head-On Crash Sends Two To Hospital

Two women are in hospital, one of them fighting for her life, after a head-on crash near St. Thomas.

Elgin OPP say a Chevy car was heading west on the Hwy. 3 Bypass between First Ave. and Balaclava St. around 7:30am Thursday, when it pulled out to pass a transport truck and collided head-on with an eastbound Mazda.

The Chevy driver, a 65-year-old St. Thomas woman, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Mazda, a 35-year-old London woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have closed the Hwy. 3 Bypass and expect it to remain closed until late afternoon as they continue to investigate the collision.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
