Truck Tire Hits Vehicle On 401

It was a close call for a driver east of London whose vehicle was hit by a tire that came off a transport truck.

OPP say it happened just before noon Tuesday on Hwy. 401 west of Drumbo.

The tractor trailer was heading east on the busy highway, east of Oxford Rd. 29 in Blandford-Blenheim Township when a tire came loose.

The tire bounced in the eastbound lanes before hitting an eastbound car.

Police say, luckily, no one was injured and damage was considered minor.

The tractor trailer, which continued on after losing the wheel, was stopped at the MTO scales in Milton.

Last November, an Oxford County woman was killed when her vehicle was hit by a wheel that flew off of a transport truck on Hwy. 401 near Putnam Rd.
