BB Rifle Pulled In Neighbour Dispute

A four month long noise dispute between neighbours in St. Thomas came to a head with one allegedly threatening the other with a gun.

St. Thomas police say a man, armed with a rifle, knocked on the door of his neighbour's home on Elysian St. just before 11am Tuesday and threatened to use the gun if the neighbour didn't pipe down. The pair had been fighting about noise levels since October.

The man went back to his own home before officers arrived.

Police quickly surrounded the home and arrested the man without incident.

Police say the rifle was actually a BB gun. It was found during a search of the home.

A 29-year-old man is charged with one count of possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
