Two Hurt In Egremont Dr. Crash

Two people were taken to hospital after a head-on crash northwest of London.

The crash, involving two pick-up trucks, happened on Egremont Dr. near the village of Lobo around 8am Wednesday.

Middlesex OPP say a red Dodge pick-up was heading east on Egremont Dr. when it collided head-on with a black Chevrolet pick-up that was going west. The crash happened in the eastbound lane.

The driver of the Dodge, a 66-year-old Strathroy-Caradoc man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The 58-year-old Middlesex Centre woman driving the Chevrolet had to be extricated from the truck. She also suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.  There were two dogs in her vehicle, one of which suffered life-threatening injuries.

The two drivers are currently listed in fair condition in hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Egremont Dr. was closed between Gold Creek Dr. and Lamont Dr. for several hours, but re-opened around 2:30pm.
