Lightning Strike Down Hurricanes

The London Lightning snapped a three game losing streak with a 113-107 win over the Halifax Hurricanes on Saturday.

London had a narrow two point lead in the first quarter, and Halifax was able to tie the game 50-50 going into halftime. The Lightning then regained a 83-75 lead in the third.

Tyshawn Patterson led London with a game high 23 points. Akeem Wright and Stephen Maxwell both had 22.

“I was proud of that game because we were shorthanded and we really executed our game plan for the most part, and that’s special,” said coach Kyle Julius. “That’s a hard week, we spent a whole fighting from a loss, I’m happy for them.”

The crowd at Budweiser Gardens took on the look of a sea of purple, as fans donned the colour in support of the London Abused Women's Centre.

The Lightning will take on the Windsor Express next on March 26 at 7:30pm.
