Vehicle Stop Nets $405K In Pot

The suspicions of a Norfolk OPP officer proved to be correct, leading to the seizure of over $400,000 worth of marijuana.

Police say the officer was on patrol around 8:30am Saturday in the area of McDowell Rd. W in North Walsingham, south of Tillsonburg. A vehicle caught the attention of the officer, who then pulled it over and investigated. According to police, an estimated $405,000 worth of marijuana was seized.

Xing Dong, 41, of Markham is charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. He is to appear in court in Simcoe.

“The OPP remains strongly committed to work within all of our communities across the province to stem the tide of illicit drugs,” says Inspector Zvonko Horvat, Norfolk County OPP Detachment Commander.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
