Name Released In Fatal 401 Crash

An Aylmer man has been identified as the man killed in a serious two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 401 in Blandford-Blenheim Township.

Oxford OPP say 67-year-old Robert Shelley died after his car collided with the back of an SUV in the westbound lanes of the highway, west of Township Rd. 8 just before 12pm Wednesday. The car then spun out of control, before veering off the road and into the ditch.

Shelley was pronounced dead in hospital.

The driver of the SUV was treated for minor injuries.

Police say they have completed their investigation and no charges will be laid.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
