Woman Charged In Cruiser Crash

A 53-year-old woman has been charged following a crash that sent an OPP cruiser slamming into the front of a house in Lucan.

Middlesex OPP say aJjeep was heading north on Main St. just before 1pm Monday when it turned into the path of a police cruiser. The vehicles collided, sending the cruiser into the front porch of a nearby home.

The driver of the Jeep, Christine Andersen of North Middlesex, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer was treated at the scene.

Police say the cruiser was heading north in the southbound lanes, passing northbound traffic at the time of the crash. The cruiser's emergency equipment was not activated.

Andersen is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with making an unsafe turn.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
