One Killed In Jeep-Motorcycle Crash

A 30-year-old man from Thames Centre is dead after a collision east of London involving a motorcycle and a Jeep.

Middlesex OPP say it happened just after 1:30pm Tuesday on Catherine St. between Shaw Rd. and Richmond St.  Police say the westbound Kawasaki motorcycle collided with an eastbound Jeep, killing the motorcycle driver.

The 45-year-old Thames Centre woman driving the Jeep was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

OPP Constable Liz Melvin says it's too early to say whether speed was a factor in the crash.

"That's what our technical collision is going to reveal. They do a bit of a reconstruction at the scene and they determine causal factors," says Melvin.

Police closed Catherine St. in that area as they investigated the crash.

School buses were also re-routed.
