Councillor Spending Report Released

Councillor Virginia Ridley was the top spender among her council colleagues in the first quarter of 2016.

The city released the first quarter expenses of all 14 ward councillors on Friday.

Ridley has expensed $7,439.58, nearly half of the annual $15,000 allotment given to each councillor.

This isn't Ridley's first time at the top of the spending list. In 2015, she expensed a total of $13,960.23, nearly $2,000 more than the second highest spender on council.

On the other end of the spectrum was Councillor Maureen Cassidy. She spent a mere $151.25 during the first quarter of 2016.

All of the expenses appear to be within city guidelines for council expenses.
