Supposed Gun-Toting Suspect Sought

Police in Woodstock are looking for a suspect reported to have been carrying a gun and walking aggressively near the community complex.

The Woodstock Police Service reports around 3:30pm Tuesday a citizen flagged down an officer and reported seeing a person carrying a brown rifle in front of the Woodstock Community Complex on Finkle St. about 10 minutes earlier.

The male suspect is described as a teenager with dark, long, scruffy hair and was reported to have been wearing a dark hoodie and jeans.

Police sent in uniformed and plain clothes officers to check the area, but they didn't find anyone with a gun. People at nearby facilities were put on notice of the investigation while officers searched the area.

Police continue to investigate the validity of the complaint.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
