Holiday Monday Closures

Often viewed as the unofficial kick off to summer or cottage season, the Victoria Day long weekend is upon Canadians.

In addition to marking the late Queen Victoria's birthday, it is a statutory holiday with most people getting Monday off from work or school.

The day off comes with a number of closures. Here is a list of what's open and closed in London on holiday Monday.

CLOSED:

Government offices (municipal, provincial, and federal) Schools Canada Post (no mail delivery) Malls Banks LCBO/Beer Stores Grocery stores Costco Wholesale London Public Library branches Most drug stores (Shoppers Drug Mart locations at 510 Hamilton Rd. and in Sherwood Forest Mall at 1225 Wonderland Rd. N will be open from 10am-6pm)

OPEN:

Fanshawe Pioneer Village (Queen Victoria birthday festivities starting at noon) Fanshawe Conservation Area (for campsite availability call 1-866-668-2267) Eldon House (Victoria Day picnic 1pm-4pm) Labatt Retail Store on Richmond St. - 11am-6pm City spray pads - 9am-9pm Movie theatres The LTC will be running on a Sunday schedule

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
