Unattended Cooking to Blame for Trafalgar Street Fire

The London Fire Department is reminding people to never leave cooking unattended following a fire at a Trafalgar St. apartment.

Crews were called to 1455 Trafalgar St. just after 6:15pm Monday to find occupants escaping out a second floor window.

No one was injured in the fire, which was contained to one unit.  There was smoke damage to the second and third floors.

The cause of the fire was unattended cooking and damage is pegged at $40,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
