Driver Charged In Middlesex Centre Crash

A Strathroy-Caradoc man is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle crash in Middlesex Centre.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Monday around 11:45pm, officers responded to Egremont Dr. near Gold Creek Dr. after a vehicle left the road and crashed into a ditch.

The driver was placed under arrest once officers determined that he had been drinking alcohol. He was then transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say a breath test revealed that the man allegedly consumed more than two times the legal limit of alcohol.

A 21-year-old Strathroy-Caradoc man is now charged with driving a motor vehicle while impaired, and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in his blood. He has since been released with a future court date.
