Impaired Charges Laid After Serious Crash

Charges of impaired and dangerous driving have been laid after a serious crash near Belmont.

Emergency crews were called to Dorchester Rd. near Avon Rd. around 12:05am Thursday after a Ford F-150 pickup truck went off the road and rolled. Two men, a 20-year-old from Malahide Township and a 20-year-old from Aylmer, were thrown from the truck.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Malahide Township, is charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, two counts of driving while ability impaired causing bodily harm, and being a young driver with a blood alcohol level above zero.

All three people in the truck were taken to hospital. Police say their injuries are not considered life-threatening, however one suffered injuries described as "life-altering."

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
