Stolen Vehicle Hits Police Cruiser

A 19-year-old London woman is in custody and charges are pending following an incident Tuesday morning that closed the Hwy. 81/Centre Rd. off-ramp from the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 402.

OPP were alerted to the theft of a Honda SUV from Lambton County, that had to come to a stop because of traffic congestion at the off-ramp shortly past 4am.

Police say the stolen vehicle struck a responding police vehicle which sustained minor damage.

The officer was not injured although the driver of the Honda was taken to hospital for medical assessment.

The Hwy. 402 eastbound off-ramp at Centre Rd. had re-opened around 8am but police remained on scene.
