Lightning Win At Home For Final Time This Season

For the last time this season the London Lightning put on an electric game for local fans Friday night and pulled out a win against Halifax.

London beat the Hurricanes 92-81 in Game 5 of the NBLC Finals in front of 7,583 spectators at Budweiser Gardens.

The Lightning are still behind 3-2 in the best-of-seven series.

Akeem Scott played to win with 19 points and nine assists while Garrett Williamson scored 17 and Warren Ward added 16 points.

“Tonight was a complete team effort, they executed the game plan better in the previous two games, especially on the defensive end. We feel good about that,” says coach Kyle Julius. “We worked harder. Everybody was criticizing us for being small, and I think we just worked harder. We had more fight.”

“I wanted to thank the fans, I love these fans, I love being here, it’s a blessing.”

Game 6 is in Halifax on Sunday at 2pm.
