A human trafficking investigation by London police has taken a loaded handgun from the streets and left one man facing charges.

Officers with the Community Oriented Response Unit say their investigation led them to a south end hotel around 11:20am Tuesday where they located a 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man from Toronto

A loaded 9mm handgun and $4,310 cash were seized.

The 24-year-old man is charged with unlicensed possession of a restricted weapon, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, possession of a prohibited device, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police say they continue to actively investigate human trafficking within the city and ask anyone with information to call them at 519-661-5983 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
