Charges Laid In Exeter Sexual Assault

A 19-year-old man is now facing more charges in the wake of the sexual assault of a woman on an Exeter walking trail.

Huron OPP say a woman was attacked as she walked on the MacNaughton-Morrison Trail around 6:30pm on Saturday, June 18. Police later took a man into custody, charging him with failing to comply with a probation order.

After further investigation, police say Mitchell Webster is now charged with sexual assault and robbery.

He is currently in police custody and is to appear in court in Goderich on Friday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
