Cab Driver Assaulted During Fare Dispute

St. Thomas police are asking for the public's help as the search continues for two suspects accused of punching a cab driver in the face.

Police say two men were picked up by a local cab company from a pub in Port Stanley and driven to St. Thomas around after 2:30am on Saturday. The men asked the driver to pull over in the area of Fifth Ave. and Pine St.

The men began to argue with the driver over the fare, and that's when police say one of them punched the driver in the face before taking off.

Both men are believed to be in their 20s and were wearing back t-shirts and jeans. Police say one of the men is described as short and heavy, while the other is tall and skinny.

Anyone with information about his incident is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
